Nigel and Wyatt finally meet....Father and Son :)

WEll.......... I know its been a while since I last posted! It gets easy to get caught up in things!
So....Nigel came home for leave, and him and Wyatt finally met. It was absolutely wonderful. The two of them automatically clicked, and did very well with each other. We loved our time together as a family, and we look forward to the end of his tour. I hope you all enjoy the pics! :)

Time to get out the summer hat!

Last week Wyatt and I went down to Indy for a few days. While we were there we took his first trip to Broad Ripple on a nice sunny day. Wyatt seemed to enjoy the hat because it helped to shield the sun out of his eyes. All in all, we had a very nice trip, and enjoyed our time down there.
Wyatt is doing good. He is becoming a lot more alert, and aware of his surroundings. He is smiling a lot, and coos quite a bit. Sometimes when I sing to him, he will coo along with me as if he were trying to sing along!! :) I tried to post a video of him cooing numerous times, but each time the download failed. :( Sorry!! I believe it must be a problem with the site. Hopefully I'll get it figured out.
For the most part Wyatt and I are doing good, and counting down the days till we get to see Nigel/Daddy!

April News

Hi All! Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Nigels leave dates got pushed back to end of July-beginning of August sometime instead of May. These dates are tenative....and could change again at any time. So I'll keep my fingers crossed that if his dates change again that he gets to come home earlier than that, and not any later!!
All in all, Wyatt and I are hanging in there. He had his 2 month check up last week, and he now weighs 11 lbs! The Pediatrician thinks that Wyatt has developed some late colic (most babies develop it earlier on). He said sometimes babies do show up with it later, but the good part about that is that it shouldn't last long. So this is good news to me!
When Wyatt is happy he is definitely full of smiles and he has started to coo quite a bit!! I am enjoying the fact that he is starting to interact with me and become more aware of the world around him. His new favorite this to do is to chew on his fist!!!
We can't wait for the weather to get nicer so that we can go outside and take Amaya on walks. C'mon nice weather we've been waiting patiently!!!!

Big Smiles :)

Well, Wyatt is smiling a lot more now as you can tell from the photos. For a while now he has been smiling and holding his head up, but now it is a lot more frequent. He is getting better at doing both.....enough so that I was able to capture a picture of it. :)
We went to the clinic on Friday, and Wyatt now weighs 9lbs 13ozs!! He is getting bigger and bigger!

rub a dub dub

Well, I know its been over a week since I last posted an update. Wyatt and I have been pretty busy. Last weekend we made our first trip together, just the two of us. We went down to Indy to visit and get some things taken care of. Wyatt and I did pretty well, however...... by Sunday night we were both pretty exhausted!
Here are some new pictures of Wyatt. He definitely loves taking a bath. He has started to hold his head up for about a minute. And he has started to smile at me...... which just makes my heart melt!!!! He is changing right before my eyes every single day. I've got to take as much video as I can!

1 month old already!!!

Well Wyatt is now one month old!! I cannot believe how much he has changed already. Everyday he seems to be getting bigger. Yesterday I packed up the premie clothes that he was wearing, and we have now moved up to the newborn sizes! We have our good days, and our bad days (and nights), but for the most part he is an absolute joy. I am excited to see what new developments the next month will bring us. In the mean time I will try to keep everyone posted.
On a happy joyful note..... Nigel is going to get to meet his son in May when he comes home for a visit!!!!!! :) All three of us are just sooooo excited! :)

Growing boy

Well, I made Wyatt this t-shirt for him to wear at the hospital (which he did). Now at three weeks of age you can see that his long sleeve tshirt is now almost up to his elbows!!!! :) I told my mom when I put it on him the other day that it was probably the last time that he would wear it. Now, It will go into a keepsake box. :)
Wyatt and I are doing great. (Besides his new fussy periods) He is definitely starting to make his needs more known by screaming. (Very Loudly) My Dad always says "that boy has a good set of lungs!"
He is still sleeping a lot, but when he is awake he is wide-eyed and enjoys looking around at everything. I have a feeling that as he gets older that he will be very curious! I'll try to get more pictures this weekend, as it will be Wyatt at 1 month old!!! I cannot believe he will be a month old on Sunday. Time is already flying by!

No more bili-blanket!!

I took Wyatt on Thursday to have his bilirubin levels drawn. On Friday I found out that the results were now NORMAL!! I am so relieved that we do not have to use the biliblanket any longer!! I think both of us were getting frustrated with it. I must say that it is so nice to be able to get up out of the chair and walk around the house with Wyatt and not be attached to a 2 foot cord!!!! So this is very good news to us!
We are both doing very well, and are slowly making adjustments. He's adjusting to life outside the womb, and I am adjusting to life with an infant! :) I was talking to Nigel the other day and told him that I believe I underestimated how much work it is to have a newborn. Although he does keep me busy I'm loving every day that I have with him.
Nigel is doing very well, and seems to be in great spirits. He really loved the video that I posted of Wyatt the other day. He only gets to check his email about once a week, so don't get discouraged if you have not had much of a reply from him. Hes keeping busy and says that hes just getting his job done, so that he can come back home to his family.

Up in Plymouth

Well its been a long week, but we have finally made it to Plymouth where we will be staying with my mom and dad for my maternity leave. Thanks to the help of many friends and family(especially my sister Stephanie), we made it through week #1! I would have been totally lost and exhausted without the unconditional help that was given to me.

Wyatts bilirubin was still a little elevated, so the doctor order for him to continue with the bili-blanket for one more week. I pray that by then his levels will be good enough to not have to use the blanket anymore. Its somewhat challenging to have only a 2 foot radius to move with him since he is connected to the machine.

All in all Wyatt has been a very good boy, and he is such a blessing.

We've got a cutie!

Well, they have determined that Wyatt has jaundice (a relatively common thing). So they have placed him under the bilirubin lights for now. The lights are located up in the NICU a floor above where I am. Its hard for me however to be away from him..... I'd much rather have him here with me!!!

Here are some new pictures for everyone to see! :)

Wyatts Birthday 02-15-09

Well Wyatt is finally here!!!! He was born at 8:15 am this morning. He was 6lbs 13oz, 20 1/2in long. He definitly displayed a stubborn side----and did not want to come out. I pushed for almost 3 1/2 hours!!! Dad (Nigel) was able to call me throughout the night, as well as today. I was very happy to hear from him, and it was such a blessing.
Most important thing is that we are both doing good. We are most likely going to be released from the hospital on Tuesday. I will be having an appt with the pediatrician on Friday, then plan to go up to Plymouth. :) I'm sure I'll be posting more pictures soon!

Nine Month Belly........

Here are some new pictures of me. Once I saw these pictures I thought "Wow I look as big as I feel!"

These may be the last pictures that I have taken before Wyatt is born. We'll see...... he may just be stubborn!

Waiting game............

Right now I'm just playing the waiting game. My MD says that I'm on a teeter totter right now and that it wouldn't take much to push me over the edge. As of Thursday she said that I am 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced. He is in head down position, and I can feel that he has dropped. (I can breathe easier!!) These are all good exciting things! However my MD quickly reminded me not to get my hopes too high because some women can stay at this level from days........to weeks! So right now I am just hanging out until Wyatt decides to join us in this world. I'm still working at the hospital, and everyday when I walk into work I must have at least 3-4 people that say "you're still here???"
Nigel has been trying to check in with me as much as he possibly can during his travels. I told him I would email him right away once I felt Wyatt was on his way.
Please keep Nigel in your prayers while his is traveling to his home base.

Well, maybe Wyatt will be here soon!! Monday is a full moon!!!

Just one more........

I finally got this all figured out, I decided to put up one more video. (I'm on a roll now!!) Since they are low quality I wanted to put as many as I could so that people can see different angles and views.

Nigel is very happy that he has gotten to see these videos! Hopefully you are too. :)

Heres another video!

THis one may be a little bit better! I'm happy to still have my sanity after getting these videos posted!!! Who knew it would be so difficult to post an ultrasound video...........

Well anyway, here it is. Enjoy!!

36 week pictures (almost 37!!)

36 week ultrasound

I know this video is not the best.... however, I wanted to allow Nigel to see the ultrasound video prior to leaving the country. This is a video of the TV screen as its playing the ultrasound VHS, soooo its low quality. Hopefully it will do!!

At the beginning of the video is Wyatts face fading in and out. Then the shot moves down his back on to his legs. AT the beginning, if you can't understand what you are seeing---- turn your head to the right like you are viewing the video flipped on its side---long ways. His face is the round object popping in and out of view!!!

Hopefully I can post a better video later once I have more time to sit down and do it right.
My Dr said that he is estimated at about 6 1/2 lbs right now. (I seriously thought he would be bigger than that, with the way he kicks!!) :) Whoa!!!!!! I couldn't imagine what it would feel like to have 8 in there!!!!!!!!!

Kristin and Nigel

When Nigel came home for Christmas, one of the things that I wanted to do was get pictures taken together. So on Christmas day Steph took these wonderful pics of me and Nigel.

Baby Wyatt

Well, I got the idea to do a blog from stephanie. She has a great page for her son Adrian. I don't live very close so I always enjoy looking at updates of Adrian on the page http://rizkybusiness.blogspot.com/

Although it is great for family and friends, I must admit that I really wanted to do this blog especially for my hubby Nigel. He will be overseas serving in Afghanistan until late in 2009. My hope is that Nigel will be able to hop online whenever he gets a chance to check the blog to see what his son is up to, and how he is doing. There may be times when Nigel has only but a few minutes on a computer, so this way he can jump on this site and see updates on Wyatt. I'm sure that while being away from home, that this will put a smile on his face, and brighten his day! :)

I'm officially 35 weeks along, with only 5 weeks to go!!! (Of course may be sooner or later----I guess that part is ultimately up to Wyatt himself) I've got an ultrasound scheduled for Jan. 29th, so if I can, I'll try to post that online here. We'll see--- I may have to get help from Steph to do the video postings!!

Wyatt will be here before we know it!
